Modern Materials Handling, Material Handling Product News, and Material Handling 24/7 have named ORBIS® Corporation a 2024 Readers’ Choice Product of the Year award winner for its ORBIShield ECO™ in the containers, totes, and bins category. These awards, now in their ninth year, honor company achievements for advances in materials handling systems and equipment within manufacturing, distribution centers, and warehouses.

Greg Leighton headshot“We are so honored to be recognized by all these distinctive outlets and their readers, as it highlights our ongoing commitment to the circular economy and promoting both the reuse of materials and reduced reliance on single-use packaging,” said Greg Leighton, product manager at ORBIS. “Like all ORBIS products, this new line is custom designed with sustainability in mind and can address the evolving needs of businesses who are increasingly conscious of the impact packaging has on the environment.”

Designed to protect parts and components in the automotive supply chain
ORBIShield ECO dunnage is designed to protect parts and components in the automotive supply chain and can be designed and installed into totes, bulk containers, or metal racks. It is available in a wide variety of materials that reduce solid waste generation and carbon footprint, without compromising product protection or performance.

Crafted from Polypropylene, ECOLux coated fabric surpasses vinyl coated and laminated textiles in terms of sustainability. It is more cost-effective than Polyurethane or Silicon coated fabrics, and it is also free from harmful substances such as Phthalates, Dioxins, PFAS, and heavy metals.

Evolon Laminate is an innovative solution that offers unparalleled softness and contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the automotive packaging industry. With 70% post-consumer recycled content, Evolon lamination ensures lint-free protection for highly delicate parts while supporting the beneficial reuse of recovered post-consumer material.

EPE (Expanded Polyethylene Foam) is a lightweight and durable closed-cell beaded foam used for protecting and cushioning products during transportation and storage. At its end of life, it is 100% recyclable and reduces the Carbon Footprint by 40% compared to other foam packaging options. EPE foam can be used in various applications, such as dunnage rails, cavity pads, and cushioning. It offers performance benefits, such as tear resistance, thermal fusion of beads, no ghosting of painted parts, chemical resistance, and non-absorbent properties.
