BSLBATT Electric Forklift Batteries still going strong after four years of intensive use

Founded in 2012, BSL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (“BSL Battery”) is an innovative lithium-ion battery manufacturer that designs and manufactures smart lithium-ion batteries (50% more efficient than comparable products on the market) for industrial forklifts in the warehousing and distribution industries, with differentiated intellectual property that improves safety and lifespan. Today, the company announced its electric forklift batteries are still going strong with little performance degradation after four years of intensive use in a Fortune 500 company’s 24/7 distribution center.

All batteries have their life shortened by factors such as heavy loads, extreme conditions, overcharging, deep discharge, frequent use, and suboptimal charging between shifts. BSLBATT’s batteries experienced a negligible performance degradation of approximately 1% when used under heavy load in a Fortune 500 company’s distribution center. The following chart highlights data from December 2021 to December 2024 for the 51.2V, 820AH lithium-ion electric forklift batteries used at the facility:

“We observed a negligible capacity fade of just 1% over four years of multi-shift operation,” said Master Molin, BSL Aftermarket Services Specialist, using the company’s proprietary GPRS cloud platform database.

“For an electric forklift battery operating in a 24/7 distribution center, consumption is 0.8 to 1.5 charging cycles per day. A typical forklift operating with a 41.984 kWh battery will travel approximately 150 miles per charging cycle as a typical electric vehicle (with a 40KWh battery). Considering an average charge per day and 320 days per year, this equates to 48,000 miles per year. Over four years, this equates to 192,000 miles (or 1,280 charging cycles) with virtually no battery degradation and an expected battery life of up to 1 million miles,” added Master Molin.

To put these numbers in perspective, the average warranty offered by electric vehicle manufacturers is approximately 100,000 miles (666 charging cycles) or 8 years (whichever comes first) with a capacity retention of 75%. BSL offers its customers a warranty of up to 3,500 charging cycles or 8 years (whichever comes first).

Haley Ning, BSL COO, said: “Because we serve these businesses on tight margins, consistent pick-up and loading times are critical to success, and they choose BSLBATT lithium-ion batteries because of their very low cost of ownership, no maintenance, minimal battery degradation, and durability to withstand harsh environments. Customers gain real value through increased productivity, operational efficiency, and cost efficiency. At the same time, we are not standing still. Over the past four years, we have significantly upgraded our battery product line, increasing energy density and adopting advanced battery management systems, active balancing technology, USB-OTA technology, and durability technology for even more powerful performance.” Contact us for more information about our batteries, or visit our website.

BSL’s existing lithium-ion battery range will be on display at the company’s booth at the  EXPO RIYADH conference, which will be held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center from December 12 to 15, 2024, and at the Riyadh International Exhibition Center from January 21 to 23, 2025.
