Toyota Material Handling President and CEO, Brett Wood, announced on his LinkedIn page on Friday, June 20th, that he had made a dream come true for Harper Booram.
On Wednesday, June 11th, we welcomed our 2025 Make-A-Wish recipient, Harper, and her family at our Columbus, Indiana TMHNA headquarters for my favorite day of the year. This is our 8th year of partnering with Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, and it’s always a privilege to witness the culmination of months of fundraising and hard work, all dedicated to creating a truly magical experience for a deserving child and their family,” said Wood.

Harper and her family arrived in a pink limo to a sea of Toyota associates dressed in Hawaiian luau gear, cheering for her arrival. “We officially named her ‘CEO for the Day, ‘ and she fully embraced the role. After her grand entrance and CEO appointment, Harper shared a few words, and her speech was the best I’ve ever heard from a Wish Kid. Confident and inspiring, she is surely destined for a leadership position someday,” Wood added.

Booram then jumped right into her duties, leading meetings and making executive decisions, including naming our sustainability mascot! She also toured the factory, where she inspected forklifts and found her very own “Harper Button” that stopped the production line. It played one of her favorite songs, “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift, while displaying her family photo on the Andon board, which hangs above the factory floor.
The day wrapped up with a personalized video message from former soccer star, Alex Morgan, and the reveal of Harper’s granted wish: a family trip to Hawaii, which they will take later this month!
A huge thanks to Juli Miller and the Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana team for their incredible partnership, as well as our amazing associates for showing what it means to live our purpose: helping people carry the load!
“Harper was such a great CEO that some of our team is already asking when she’s coming back for her next shift at Toyota!” said Wood.
