Magnalight.com has announced the introduction of a low profile explosion proof light featuring high output and paint booth certification. Designed to provide compatibility with low profile mounting applications, the EPL-48-216 explosion proof light fixture from Larson Electronics provides high output in a less obtrusive form factor and is suitable for areas where flammable or explosive gases and vapors may be present.

The EPL-48-216 explosion proof light fixture from Larsonelectronics.com is an ideal low profile fluorescent fixture for operations where high output and even light coverage is required. This fixture features four high output fluorescent lamps housed within a low profile fixture constructed of light weight yet durable copper free aluminum.  T6 temperature rated, Class 1 Division 1 & 2 compliant, and certified for paint spray booth use, these explosion proof lights offer a low profile design that fits in well with locations where mounting space is at a premium. The four bulb design produces a high 20,000 lumen output that provides even coverage and good color rendering qualities, making the EPL-48-216 well suited to paint booth applications where these qualities are a must. The fluorescent lamps have a long 20,000 hour operational life rating for reliable operation, and the heavy duty ballast assemblies are sealed within integral housings for safety. The reflector assemblies are also constructed of copper free aluminum and have a durable high gloss finish to provide high reflectivity with even light distribution. The fluorescent bulbs are protected by heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes, and the lamp assemblies feature screw on end caps for easy servicing and secure lamp installation. The EPL-48-216 operates with universal 120-277 VAC current and is available in standard surface bracket or optional pendant mount bracket configurations, making installation simple and straightforward. These explosion proof fixtures also carry UL 595 Outdoor Marine Type and UL 1598 Marine Type approvals, making them well suited to offshore applications such as drilling and ship based operations. These explosion proof fluorescent lights offer operators who need high output illumination from a low profile fixture capable of meeting stringent hazardous location electrical requirements an ideal lighting solution that can withstand the rigors of industrial operations.

“The EPL-48-216 explosion fluorescent fixture directly answers the demands of our customer base,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight.com. “Customers are looking for more power in smaller fixtures.  While explosion proof fluorescent lights are bulky by nature, we found a way to provide the power of a four lamp fixture in a 2 lamp form factor. Our prices our still beneath our competitions’ two lamp fixture, and we are delivering 20,000 lumens within Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1 areas.”
