Wynright Corporation announced that Merle Davis, President of Wynright’s Automotion brand conveyor and sortation manufacturing division, has been elected to the Board of Directors at CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association.)  Davis oversees the day-to-day manufacturing processes, and the development and introduction of new material handling equipment at Wynright.  That includes the launch of The Green Line conveyor products designed with an eye toward energy efficiency, aesthetics and ease of installation.

“I am honored to join the distinguished Board of CEMA to represent the organization and its focus on design standards, safety and industry growth, Davis said. “At the forefront of materials handling technologies and ingenuity, Wynright has similar goals, including elevating the productivity of warehouses and distribution centers, and improving worker safety.”

Naples, Fla.-based CEMA is the voice of the North American conveyor industry, serving manufacturers and designers of conveyor equipment since 1933. “We are committed to advancing the material handling technology industry, and that commitment includes tapping experts to best serve our association and the industry at large, said Bob Reinfried, Executive Vice President at CEMA.  “Merle brings a distinguished career to our organization and the experience to guide a new generation of material handling professionals.”

With 22 years of service at Wynright, Davis spearheads one of the divisions at the forefront of helping companies automate their warehouses and distribution centers, use space more efficiently, and leverage workers for more strategic objectives.

Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.  He previously served as a CEMA Board member from 2006-09 and as Unit Handling Section Chairperson in 2007-08.
