Doosan Infracore to supply small diesel engines for Chinese company

Doosan Infracore Co., South Korea’s leading construction equipment maker, said Sunday that it has been picked to supply 12,000 small diesel engines for a Chinese forklift company.

The small G2 engines that meet stringent Stave-V European emissions standards will be shipped to Baoli Forklift Co., a subsidiary of the world’s No. 2 forklift manufacturer, KION Group AG of Germany.

The engines to be provided up till 2025 will be installed in forklifts earmarked for foreign markets, Doosan Infracore said. It said the latest deal is expected to further solidify the company’s global standing as a premium engine manufacturer for forklifts.

The company already has an engine contract with KION itself that was signed in 2015 and has made inroads into the Chinese and Vietnamese commercial vehicle engine markets.

It, moreover, exchanged a letter of intent with an Italian tractor company and an Indonesia engine manufacturer earlier this year that is expected to facilitate its global presence in the coming years.
