Greg May, PE, LEED AP, joined HNTB Corporation in Philadelphia as rail program manager and associate vice president. May is supporting the firm’s complex rail infrastructure projects throughout the region, initially leading a major opportunity with the Delaware River Port Authority.

May’s 20 years of industry experience includes a robust background in leading and managing engineering teams to deliver rail and transit design projects and construction assignments to clients throughout the U.S. He has significant technical and managerial experience in the region, including work for Amtrak, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, Norfolk Southern, CSX and DRPA.

“Greg is a performance-focused and growth-oriented leader with a demonstrated ability to produce results on highly complex transit and rail projects,” said Joe Guzzi, PMP, HNTB Pennsylvania office leader and vice president. “His leadership and strategic planning skills will serve as a vital resource for our regional transit and rail clients as they seek to deliver some of Pennsylvania’s most transformative projects and improve mobility in the state.”

Prior to joining HNTB, May served as vice president and rail and transit practice leader for another consulting firm, leading projects across the country.

May is an active member of numerous professional and community organizations, including the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, the American Public Transportation Association’s Rail Transit and Capital Projects committees, and the American Society of Civil Engineers Philadelphia Section. Greg was named one of Mass Transit Magazine’s 2017 “Top 40 Under 40.” He also was selected for the prestigious Leadership APTA executive leadership program in 2018.

May earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of New Haven. He also studied mechanical engineering at Villanova University and the University of Pittsburgh.

HNTB is a provider in infrastructure solutions firm in the U.S., and is currently or has been involved in some of the most complex transportation infrastructure projects in Pennsylvania, including performing design and construction management for the Ben Franklin Bridge Port Authority Transit Corporation Track Rehabilitation project; preparing an environmental assessment for improvements to I-95 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the Scudder Falls Bridge over the Delaware River; and serving as program management consultant for the 550-mile all-electronic tolling conversion for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
