R. J. Corman Railroad Group becomes newest AAR Member

The Association of American Railroads (AAR) announced today that R. J. Corman Railroad Group has joined the association as a full member.

“As an industry built on connecting people and goods, we know the power of bringing the right voices to the table,” said Ian Jefferies, president and CEO of the AAR. “R. J. Corman’s decision to join the association broadens AAR’s membership and bolsters our ability to advocate for the world’s safest, most cost-efficient freight transportation system in the world.”

R. J. Corman Railroad Company, LLC operates 13 short line railroads and is a subsidiary of R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC. Altogether, the company employs more than 1,500 people in 22 states. In addition to short line railroad and switching operations, R. J. Corman companies provide a broad scope of services to the railroad industry such as emergency response, track material distribution, track construction, signal design and construction as well as building eco-friendly locomotives.

R. J. Corman will participate in the Safety and Operations Management Committee and the Policy and Advocacy Management Committee. These key AAR committees are charged with advancing sound public policies and establishing safety, security and operating standards that provide seamless and safe operations to meet America’s transportation needs today and tomorrow.
