Biggest ever Hack Attack golf tournament raises $90,000 for children’s charity

The 32nd annual Hack Attack golf tournament, organized by Sulzer Turbo Services Houston Inc., has raised a record $90,000 for the charity ‘Today’s Harbor for Children’, based in La Porte, TX, U.S. The funds will help the organization to provide a crucial safe harbor to children in crisis.

The latest Hack Attack from Sulzer Turbo Services Houston Inc. took place at the Golf Club of Houston, Humble, TX, on May 3 and saw many golfers taking part in different competitions. These included 4-man scrambles, a hole-in-one contest and the chance to roll a dice and win.

The scramble tournament began at 8 am with a shotgun start, in order to ensure that everyone would finish at approximately the same time, ready for lunch and the award banquet.

Sulzer Turbo Services Houston Inc., located in La Porte, TX, has been supporting the local charity, Today’s Harbor for Children, formerly known as Boys and Girls Harbor, since 1994. By collaborating with customers and partners, the company has raised over USD 2 million, which has gone towards helping local children flourish within communities and providing safe and caring homes in the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area.

The commitment of Sulzer Turbo Services Houston Inc. goes beyond the annual golf tournament. The company has hired several Today’s Harbor for Children alumni and various employees volunteer at the organization.

Don Sweat, President & CEO for Today’s Harbor for Children, commented: “We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the 32nd annual Hack Attack and could not be more grateful to Sulzer, its employees, partners and customers for organizing and attending the event. Thanks to these generous donations and the continuous support from Sulzer, Today’s Harbor for Children can continue to help children in need by offering resources, support and guidance.”

One of the winning teams from the tournament.

Darayus Pardivala, President Americas, Rotating Equipment Services, concluded: “We at Sulzer are big believers in supporting our local community. Organizing the Hack Attack is a fantastic and fun way to raise awareness in our community about the good work done at Today’s Harbor for Children while providing economic support for this local charity.”

Everyone had a wonderful day while raising much needed funds for a worthy cause. The Hack Attack has grown to become a regular event for many of our customers and partners, who return every year and are now looking forward next year’s tournament.
