Double E Company acquires Schlumpf

Schlumpf  joins Epoch Rollers, Appleton Manufacturing, Convertech and Double E Europe comprising the Double E Family of Converting Specialists manufacturing custom engineered, mission-critical components for the international converting industry.

Headquartered in Windham, ME, Schlumpf offers an extensive number of standard and custom engineered solutions for material handling challenges in the rolled goods manufacturing, converting and material handling marketplaces. Schlumpf’s family of products allows your operators to safely hoist the roll, turn it, invert it, convey it, help wind it, and even put it anywhere you need it, no matter the size, weight or material involved.

“Schlumpf has long recognized that an aging workforce presents significant challenges to converting plants and related facilities, which is why we developed our lines of roll handling and shaft handling solutions,” says Chris vanHaasteren, President of Schlumpf. “Partnering with Double E and its world-wide direct sales force provides us a tremendous lever to drive growth by introducing the Schlumpf family of products into new industries and regions, evangelizing our safety message and helping companies ensure their employees return home healthy every day.”

“We are very pleased to welcome Schlumpf into the growing Double E Family of Converting Industry Specialists,” says Tom Pranka, CEO of Double E. “The addition of Schlumpf furthers our mission to improve the safety, quality, and productivity of our customers’ manufacturing lines. Schlumpf has developed a strong reputation for their engineered solutions solving customer’s unique challenges, which matches perfectly with what we do here at Double E. After all, the Double E in our name is simply a shortened version of our motto: Engineering Excellence.”

With the addition of Schlumpf’s customized roll and shaft handling products, Double E is able to handle all aspects of material handling in a converting application, from master rolls to post-slitting finished products, identifying and solving safety and production throughput challenges with a local, cross-trained, sales engineer serving as a single point of customer contact across the entire Double E family of products.
