Hyster Company is promoting its new 30,000 – 33,000 lb. short wheelbase industrial lift trucks at the Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA) Expo 2015 in Atlanta, one of the nation’s largest forestry products shows. The company is also previewing its upcoming Tier 4 Final engines for its 19,000 – 36,000 lb. capacity models at the expo.

Suitable for high capacity use in applications such as lumber, construction and steel manufacturing, the new short wheelbase Hyster® H300HD2S and H330HD2S models are designed to offer 30,000-33,000 pounds of capacity with a shorter wheelbase. These models come in response to customer demand for superb maneuverability and compactness combined with excellent capacity. Featuring an outstanding outside turning radius for the most compact operating conditions, where space is limited and ease of use is paramount, the new trucks allow users to make efficient use of space.

Standard to these models is a right-sized Cummins QSB 4.5 L Tier 4 Interim engine mated to a three-speed power-shift ZF WG 161 transmission, which enables smooth shifting, precise inching and fast acceleration.  The powertrain is engineered to offer outstanding fuel economy while providing full-rated lifting capacity. The new models feature an on-demand hydraulic system, wet brake axles, on-demand cooling system and a closed ComforCab™ II. Additionally, they can be customized with a wide range of options and attachments, including masts, forks and carriages. The new models come standard with Hyster’s unsurpassed service and parts support network, which offers overall 98 percent on-the-shelf availability for big truck parts.

Hyster is excited to also preview its forthcoming Tier 4 Final engines for its 19,000 – 36,000 lb. capacity models (H190-280HD2 and H300-360HD2 series) as well as its 36,000 lb. capacity trucks at 36” and 48” load center (H360-36/48HD series). The Hyster Tier 4 Final solution features a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) for particulate matter removal and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction, as well as a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) delivery system. Extensive validation tests show that these Tier 4 Final trucks deliver as much as 20 percent less fuel consumption than Tier 3 baseline trucks and provide end-to-end solutions in a number of unique customer applications. They offer high productivity, durability, ergonomics and serviceability while achieving environmental compliance and reducing total cost of ownership. The Hyster® Tier 4 Final H190-280HD2, H300-360HD2 and H360-36/48HD models will be available for order with first shipments expected in the fall of 2015. Tier 4 Interim engines will continue to be available for a limited time only.

“Hyster is proud to build on the success of our Tier 4 Final engines to complete our line with the addition of Tier 4 Final trucks in the 19,000 – 36,000 lb. capacity range, including our 36” and 48” load center models,” said Brett Schemerhorn, President of Big Trucks, Americas for Hyster Company. “And, because we focus on building the right truck for each customer’s specific application needs, we continue to refine and expand this line with options like the short wheelbase models to enhance performance and productivity. Given our deep roots in the lumber industry, the SFPA Expo is the perfect place for us to showcase these advancements.”
