Brady announces new IIAR pipe markers

Brady, provider of industrial and safety printing systems and solutions, today  announces its new orange pipe markers that meet the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) Bulletin 114 modified color scheme. Orange was adopted by IIAR for ammonia markets, instead of yellow, because it meets the ANSI A13.1 (2007) revised standard for “toxic and corrosive” fluids. Yellow will continue to be available for established facilities needing replacements as well as the primary color identification for “flammable” fluids.

“Creating a uniform method of pipe identification, as IIAR Bulletin 114 supports, helps to establish safer and more efficient work environments throughout the industry,” says Tom Smith, product marketing manager for Brady. “Brady’s IIAR-compliant pipe markers can help improve safety in ammonia plants by offering proper pipe identification.”

These new markers duplicate the existing yellow IIAR markers in the following materials:

  • B-689 Wrap Around Polyester Markers: Good for dirty, rusty pipes. Has protected graphics.
  • B-681/B-883 High Performance/High Visibility: Good for high temperature pipes and exposure to chemicals. Has protected graphics.
  • B-946 Self Sticking Vinyl Markers: Easy peel-and-stick markers for general applications. Requires separate roll of arrow tape to indicate flow direction.
