Yale Materials Handling Corporation has been named the 2013 Gold Product of the Year award recipient for material handling systems by Plant Engineering for its MO25 multi-level order selector. The award was announced Monday night during the magazine’s “Engineering Awards in Manufacturing” event in Chicago. Plant Engineering determines award recipients based on voting from the magazine’s readership.

“The MO25 lift truck was a major introduction for us last year, and end users continue to be thrilled by the functionality and productivity that the product delivers,” said Brett Schemerhorn, vice president of marketing for Yale. “The multi-level order selector can increase inventory pick areas by up to 400 percent without increasing the size of the facility.”

The MO25 multi-level order selector eases picking at ground, first and second levels with its rising operator platform. This innovative solution allows the operator to pick from multiple levels and build the entire order right on the pallet, eliminating unnecessary product touches and travel time. The operator sensing floor mat, fully adjustable electronic power steering and automatic speed reduction in cornering promotes operator comfort and productivity, as orders can be seamlessly picked, packed and shipped.

Designed with superior ergonomics, the truck’s power steering reduces steer effort by 90 percent, while the control handle with finger tip directional control reduces the amount of arm movement needed to change directions. These features allow the operator to remain within the truck footprint for greater personal protection, reduce operator fatigue and increase productivity.
