Manitowoc Cranes announced that the company has received the “Large Employer of the Year” award from the American Legion for its practice of hiring veterans through its on-the-job training (OJT) program. The OJT program, which was launched in August 2014, is the first of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. It was designed to help Veterans discover what military skills best translate to civilian industry and their area of interest. Participants of the program at Manitowoc Cranes get full exposure to a wide array of business processes – all designed to provide the opportunity for the Veteran to gain valuable work experience while showcasing his/her skills in the civilian business world.
