Airpes names three new regional partners

Airpes, a manufacturer of lifting, weighing and below-the-hook equipment, has expanded its North American network with the appointment of three new sales representatives based in Chicago, Louisville, and Boston.

Justin Wieners, of Louisville, Kentucky; Trevor Deck, of Chicago, Illinois; and Tim O’Leary, of Providence, Rhode Island have joined a growing team of individuals and businesses that represent Airpes in various regions and end-user marketplaces.

Airpes has three lines of business, namely pre-engineered weighing and monitoring kits for overhead cranes, including load cells, overload protection, readouts, and data loggers; engineered lifting devices for wind turbine erection; and engineered below-the-hook devices, such as coil grabs, rotating blocks, and magnets.

Tad Dunville, general manager at Airpes Americas, said: “We love dealers. The relationship is very important because we bring low cost and high-performance products, while the dealers bring a great deal of skill in understanding the application and knowing the end-users. I feel really strongly that all parties—Airpes, dealers, reps, and customers—will prosper if we remember that and communicate often. All of our reps will focus on supporting crane builder and service organizations.”

Wieners will principally cover an automotive and aluminum hotbed including Cincinnati, Louisville, Dayton, and Indianapolis, where parts and assembly facilities are abundant. He will also target the primary metals market and introduce the product range to decision-makers at aluminum and steel mills. Deck’s focus will be more exclusively metals in an area incorporating Chicago, Milwaukee, and Northwest Indiana. O’Leary’s market is more unique, with a number of paper mills and U.S. Navy shipyards on his watch.

Growth strategy

Dunville added: “Regional reps are a big part of our strategy. Our customers don’t just want the best product; they want the best attention, service, and support to make sure things are delivered as expected, on time, and with support for service and commissioning. All three [of the new reps] were named because of their depth of experience in the field. Tim has been in the business for 30 years and Justin is a very hard worker that started out as tech and worked his way up. Trevor’s appointment also represents a huge potential.”

Wieners and Deck will work closely together, as the former explained: “Trevor and I split our territory and support each other at trade shows. We have launched an email campaign with our end-users and will be making calls with distributors as well. We have a trade show for steel customers coming up in September and will also be taking advantage of lunch and learns, and other presentation media.”

Wieners added: “I was working with Tad [Dunville] on a weighing application recently and we realized that there was a really good fit for our two companies to work together to grow sales in our territory. We represent many other manufacturers, all in lifting and rigging, winches, hoists, cranes, synthetic rope, gearbox repair, remote controls, and other hardware. We primarily focus on steel mills, paper mills, and heavy equipment manufacturers.”

Airpes is already represented by a series of brands in North America, including Otto Systems (Los Angeles), Crane Depot (Chicago), ProservCrane (Houston), Florida Handling Systems (div. Mazzella, Orlando) and Virginia Crane (Richmond).
