Simple, low-cost solution prevents pallet push-through

According to the National Fire Code Protection Association (NFPA) NFPA code 230, the flue space in between warehouse racking arrays must be kept clear. Adrian’s Safety Solutions recently introduced a low-cost and easy-to-deploy line of rack safety products designed to keep pallet rack flue-space clear. Insurance companies are requiring that a safety system be put into place to satisfy the fire code regulation. This leads warehouse managers to install costly rack protection systems which are difficult to install. “Our rack safety products were born out of the need to prevent push-through on pallet racking,” said Steve Dew, president of Adrian’s, Inc. “We have spoken with a multitude of warehouse management professionals who are experiencing increased pressure from insurance carriers, as well as local inspectors, to keep the flue space clear.” “Our products require no retrofitting and can be deployed in seconds. We stock rack safety products in standard sizes for bays ranging from eight to 12 feet. Custom sizes are also available,” said Greg Hill, account manager for Adrian’s Safety Solutions. Adrian’s rack safety products are made from two-inch, 10,000 lb break strength cargo webbing and feature specially designed hardware that can be attached to the existing pallet rack upright within seconds. Rack Safety Straps are mounted to the back of the rack and act as a visual barrier to prevent pallets from pushing through into the flue space. The Rack Safety Net adds yellow mesh to the super-strong cargo webbing and hardware. Two versions of the net are available – the fixed version for the back of the rack to prevent pallet push-through and the sliding net is designed for the front of the bay to protect work areas and allow for easy pick and pack operations.

The Rack Safety Strap and Rack Safety Net were first introduced at Promat 2015 which is a manufacturing and supply chain conference produced by MHI. The products were met with an overwhelming response by warehouse management professionals and warehouse supply resellers working to satisfy the fire code regulation and increase warehouse safety. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., Adrian’s Safety Solutions is a division of Adrian’s, Inc. Other Adrian’s, Inc. divisions include Bednet ® Cargo Control Solutions, Freight Saver and TN Webbing Products.
