Gorbel expending operations 2020 image

Gorbel opens their new facility

Gorbel Inc., a Victor, New York-based manufacturer of material handling and fall protection equipment, is expanding operations into a new facility in Henrietta, NY.

Gorbel currently has manufacturing locations in New York, Alabama, Arizona, and China, plus a sales office in Michigan. Expanding to Henrietta will increase manufacturing presence and capability within NY and add roughly 60 new jobs to the area by the end of 2020.

They will be following all local and CDC guidelines to keep attendees safe, including staging people in their personal vehicles until the interview process, maintaining social distances of at least 6’, and using masks when that distance is not possible.

“Our expansion into Henrietta demonstrates Gorbel’s commitment to growing manufacturing jobs in the region and is an exciting opportunity to align to our Mission to “Improve People’s Lives” both for our employees as well as through our products,” said Tyler Brown, VP of Operations of Gorbel.

Henrietta Town Supervisor Stephen L. Schultz said, “I was very happy to learn that Gorbel will be moving into the vacant space in the former Getinge facility, and more importantly, adding 60 new high-quality manufacturing jobs to Henrietta and Monroe County, with the possibility of more in the future. The Town has been working with developers, like Donohoe Management and LeChase Development, to try to encourage reuse of existing facilities so it is great to see this opportunity come to fruition. Gorbel’s success and upward trajectory will have a strong positive benefit to the Town and the greater community as a whole.”

Gorbel was founded in 1977 by David Reh, a Clarkson graduate with over a decade of experience selling material handling equipment. In 1990, Gorbel outgrew a small Fairport location and moved to the current location in Victor, NY, outside Rochester. Brian Reh, David Reh’s son, took over the company as President in 2004, and President and CEO in 2010. In 2019, Brian Reh transitioned into the role of CEO and David Pritchard became the President and COO.
