New LED Miniature Bulb Series puts out Ultra Bright, Omnidirectional Light as an alternative to conventional incandescents

Listen to this article

LEDtronics continues to expand its line of industry-leading miniature based LED bulbs. Introducing the B305SM series, an omnidirectional miniature bulb that directly replaces incandescents in critical instrument status indication applications. They produce much brighter light intensity while remaining energy-efficient.

Like the incandescent bulbs commonly used in panel mount applications, LEDtronics’ new ultra-bright LED lamp features a T3¼ (9mm) single-contact bayonet base that gives the installation a familiar twist. It’s a fit for applications such as backlighting, signage, panel mount pilot lights, accent lighting, and more. They are not intended for directional lighting. They are lumen-producing, omnidirectional lamps that put out vibrant light in all directions

The B305SM series is available either as a 24VAC/24VDC bulb that replaces incandescent lamps 24MB, 24RB, 1437, 1818, and W568, or as a 28VDC bulb that replaces incandescents 313, 356, 757, 1495, 1819, 1820, 1829, and 1864. The dual voltage lamps are available in 3000K warm white, 4000K natural white, or 5000K pure white, while the single-voltage bulb comes with 4000K color temperature.

Depending on the voltage and LED light color, power consumption ranges from only 1.1 to 1.2 watts, offering luminous intensity from 42 to 63 lumens and efficacy values of 35 to 53 lumens per watt. The series also has a maximum candela brightness value that ranges from 1.9 cd to 4.6 cd. They can be specified in virtually any combination of colors and operating voltages to fit the customer’s specific configuration and voltage requirements. Other colors and voltages are available for qualified volume orders.

The compact design of these bulbs makes them ideal for easy installation into tight spaces in enclosed fixtures (where temperatures do not commonly exceed the recommended operating range). They can be directly installed, requiring no modifications to the socket or to the circuit that supplies power.

Featuring a 320-degree no-shadow beam pattern, these omnidirectional, sunlight-visible LED bulbs provide higher-intensity illumination, better visibility, and uniform lighting compared to incandescents and halogens. They boast lumen maintenance of over 70% at 15,000 hours. And unlike incandescents, they generate minimal heat, produce virtually no UV radiation, and do not emit RF interference. They also have a faster turn-on and reaction time, and a CRI of 75.

Old-technology bulbs often take up a huge amount of energy, have a short lifespan, and are prone to breaking. With energy savings up to 90%, the solid-state, rugged design of the LEDtronics B305SM series bulbs renders them impervious to electrical/mechanical shock and vibration, frequent switching, and environmental extremes. They have a wide operating temperature range of ~-22°F to ~+122°F.

The new B305SM series of LEDtronics Ultra Bright Miniature Bayonet Based LED Bulbs comes with an unconditional 3-year U.S. factory warranty, and they are available through LEDtronics distributors. Custom pre-orders are available for volume orders and qualified applications.
