Superior Tire & Rubber hires new EHS manager

Henri LeMeur Jr., President & CEO of Superior Tire & Rubber Corporation announced the hiring of Gregory Latimer as Environmental Health & Safety Manager.  Mr. Latimer will be tasked with providing the safest possible work environment for the employees of Superior Tire.  He will also lead the company’s environmental efforts in maintaining the ISO: 14001 Certification and being environmental stewards for the community and employees.  He will be working with all departments to reduce waste and improve safety through the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.  This will be accomplished by working with manufacturing employees as Superior Tire moves forward in the implementation of the Toyota Production System or Lean Manufacturing.   

A graduate of Mercyhurst College, Mr. Latimer began his safety and environmental career at the United Refining Company.  In the refining industry he was exposed to every facet of the safety field and extensive environmental monitoring & reporting.  He also served as Director of Retail Marketing where he was responsible for the management of almost 300 retail stores and over 2500 employees.  Greg comes to Superior Tire from Truck-Lite Co, LLC where he held the position of Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security Manager.  He provided EHS leadership for seven domestic and four international manufacturing facilities.  With his diverse industrial background, Greg has had extensive exposure to the Lean Manufacturing principles currently being implemented at Superior Tire & Rubber.
