Material handling equipment manufacturer, Wildeck, Inc., unveiled an impressive array of innovative products and custom design capabilities in Booth 1252 at ProMat 2013; and was a keynote presenter at Monday’s on-floor educational seminar sponsored by the Storage Manufacturers Association (SMA), a subgroup of the MHIA (Material Handling Industry of America). “We are extremely excited to be among the largest exhibitors at ProMat – January 21 to 24 at McCormick Place in Chicago,” stated Hue Schlegel, Director of Marketing for Wildeck.  “As the economy continues to rebound in 2013, we believe that customers will prefer to work with quality-focused U.S. manufacturers that have extensive design capabilities – like Wildeck – to meet their unique requirements for industrial work platforms, safe and reliable material lifts (VRCs), and performance-proven safety guarding products.  In partnership with our nationwide network of material handling dealers and strategic systems integrators, we remain committed to helping customers improve supply chain operations – making them safer, more efficient, and more profitable.”  One of the highlights of Wildeck’s ProMat exhibit was the three industrial steel work platforms on display – more than any other exhibitor at this year’s show.  It clearly demonstrated the company’s market leadership and their extensive range of mezzanine design capabilities. Wildeck’s high quality, bolt-together mezzanine platforms are available as standard or custom-designed structures that can quickly expand facility capacity and provide vital space for manufacturers, distribution centers, storerooms, and warehouse operations. Three of Wildeck’s five framing options and decking configurations were shown at ProMat 2013, including:

?     Mezzanine Platform #1:  Beam & Bar Joist structure with Bar Grating decking and Welded IBC code compliant Stair.  The beam and bar joist configuration is ideal for medium-to-large mezzanines requiring wide spans and higher load capacities up to 300 psf (pounds per square foot).   The design allows mechanical, electrical, and sprinkler systems to be installed in one direction at any level.  The bar grating decking shown on this platform provides an open design that meets ventilation requirements and/or compliance with fire regulations.  Wildeck’s rugged welded stair is not only code compliant, but is structurally superior to competitive designs.

?     Mezzanine Platform #2:  C-Section structure with Roof Deck and Moisture- Resistant Resin Board, vertical access ladder, and Wildeck’s Laddergard™ Safety Swing Gate.  This bolted C-Section platform is the most economical framing option and is often specified where smaller bay sizes are acceptable.  The optimal bay size is 11 ft. x 16 ft. with a load capacity up to 200 psf.  The 20 gauge painted steel roof deck and moisture-resistant resin board flooring is an attractive and durable surface that is comfortable to walk on and suited for a wide range of applications.  Access to the displayed platform is provided by a Wildeck Vertical Ladder protected by the versatile Laddergard™ safety swing gate that protects openings at elevated levels.

?     Mezzanine Platform #3:  Beam & Beam structure with Roof Deck and Galvanized Floor Plate and Wildeck’s easy-to-assemble KD2™ Series Knock-down Stair.  The beam & beam configuration is a rugged structure that is ideal for higher mezzanine load and span requirements.  The displayed platform features equally rugged flooring with roof decking and galvanized floor plate that is recommended where localized loads could be abusive and where non-combustibility is mandated.  Mezzanine access is provided by Wildeck’s popular KD2 Knock-down stair system that is ideal where installation space is limited.  Wildeck’s KD2 Stairs are also ideal for Pick Module applications.
