Inmar announced it will team up with GS1 and the Grocery Manufacturers’ Association (GMA) to conduct a workshop titled Efficient and Effective Product Recall Management, June 23 at PepsiCo, Inc., in Chicago.

The workshop will explore best practices and strategies for planning preparing for and executing product recalls,

“In addition to being a significant business disruption, a product recall can be the biggest risk any compamy may ever face,” said Steve Dollase, president, Inmar Supply Chain Network. “A solid, actively verified strategy makes all the difference in the efficiency and effectiveness with which you protect consumer safety, manage regulatory risk, protect your brand and minimize business losses through such an event.”

The workshop will leverage Inmar’s extensive experience with managing recalls for some of the world’s largest consumer brands to help companies further develop strategies and stay abreast of the latest industry best practices, including quick and efficient communication with retail customers using the new Rapid Recall ExpressTM form offered by GS1 US.

This course  is the only educational source that specifically helps manage both communications and logistics of product recalls.  The workshop will prepare attendees for managing a recall, covering the spectrum from system components, obligations to federal and state agencies, notifying customers, to product handling and disposition, including:

  • Manage the decision-making process for initiating a recall
  • Define the scope of a recall event
  • Develop a company recall strategy
  • Integrate the Rapid Recall ExpressTM form into the company’s recall event strategy
