Certification based on renowned Toyota principles

Shoppa’s Material Handling, a Texas-based Toyota lift truck dealer also known for providing complete material handling solutions, announced two of its West Texas locations have achieved their Toyota ASEC certifications.

According to Toyota, its After Sales Evaluation & Certification (ASEC) program is designed to help dealers offer the best service in the industry for its customers. The in-depth process is intended to optimize and organize the service process at every level leading to efficient and effective aftermarket services that are essential to customers’ success.

“We are excited our Lubbock and Odessa locations have met the requirements of the comprehensive ASEC process,” said Jimmy Shoppa, president of Shoppa’s Material Handling. “The official ASEC certification underscores our ongoing commitment to providing the best customer service and experience at each of our locations so we can help keep our customers’ businesses moving.”

Six of its nine locations are now ASEC compliant, including Shoppa’s in Brownwood, Texas, which anticipates being recertified in the next month. Shoppa’s new Amarillo location also has begun its ASEC journey and expects to become certified this summer.

The certification process includes:

  • An initial evaluation of the dealership’s documents, processes, and physical items by a certified ASEC evaluator
  • Completion of Kaizen (the philosophy of continuous improvement) activities to make necessary improvements to meet the stands of the ASEC survey
  • Final evaluation to ensure requirements are met
  • Confirmation of passing the survey by a different ASEC evaluator
  • Recertification every three years

Shoppa’s is a 15-time recipient of the prestigious Toyota President’s Award and is one of the fastest-growing dealerships in the country.
