The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) has announced that J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. has renewed its Gold Level Partnership, helping the nonprofit association encourage more women to see the vast opportunities in trucking, whether as a professional driver, dispatcher, mechanic, recruiter, or business leader.

Since 2015, the company has supported WIT at the Gold Level. In addition to providing financial support, the company actively participates in the association. Rachel Christensen, vice president of intermodal operations, serves on the WIT board of directors as Vice-Chair. Jodi Edwards, a Million Mile driver for J.B. Hunt, shares her expertise as a member of the WIT Image Team.

“We must continue emphasizing the importance of inclusion and diversity in our industry to build on the progress of our predecessors,” said Shelley Simpson, chief commercial officer and executive vice president of people and human resources at J.B. Hunt. “We are proud to support Women in Trucking at the gold level for the seventh consecutive year as we work collectively to advance the voice and interest of women in transportation and logistics.”

“Our goal is to be a valuable resource and powerful community for our members to tap into,” said Ellen Voie, WIT president and CEO. “Influential industry leaders like J.B. Hunt allow us to continue to make a lasting impact on gender diversity issues in the industry and advance our mission. We are grateful for their continued support.”

Since its inception in 2007, WIT has been committed to sparking more conversations around gender diversity in the industry, drawing attention to key issues, showcasing success stories, and ultimately increasing the number of women in transportation. A few recent accomplishments include the first virtual Accelerate! Conference and Exhibition, unveiling its Driver Ambassador Trailer and providing driver members with free health support programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
