ACCU-DART brings real-time functionality to warehouse management environments on iOS devices

Manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers using radio-frequency scanners for inventory control face a pressing need to accommodate a more efficient environment, real-time integration with ERP, and hardware devices that can be supported easily from warehouses anywhere in the world. Today, ACCU-DART, a provider of integrated warehouse logistics and supply chain management solutions, announced that their comprehensive inventory control solution is now available for iOS mobile devices, including iPod, iPad and iPhone. Retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers with a growing need for accuracy and efficiency require readily available and easily supported bar code scanning solutions, and the shift towards Windows and iOS devices has already begun to change how warehouse operations work – and to deliver greater ease of use and flexibility. ACCU-DART’s inventory control solution now lets warehouse staff work with devices they are already familiar with, while also allowing for multiple warehouse applications to be run from the same device.

“Other warehouse systems often see costly delays in picking, inventory control data entry and data synchronization, but this doesn’t have to be the case. We created ACCU-DART, now available for iOS, to eliminate these common bottlenecks and enable better fulfillment – and as a result, better customer service,” said Irwin Ash, president and CEO of ACCU-DART. “In addition to supporting proprietary platforms, eight years ago we first rolled out support for Windows mobile scanners. Today, in response to the growing popularity of iOS in industrial environments, we are making ACCU-DART available for all Apple devices.”

A major advantage to running inventory control and warehouse management on Apple mobile devices is that warehouse workers are more likely to already be familiar and comfortable with the interface – leading to improved productivity. In addition, the incorporated touch-screen selection and new navigation icons make it easy for users, and multi-language support accommodates companies with warehouse operations in multiple countries.

With availability of ruggedized iPhone/iPad cases such as the iPC Linea Pro 6, which includes an integrated 1D/2D scanner, the iPhone and iPod is now able to withstand harsh industrial environments. ACCU-DART integrates directly and in real time with Sage 300 ERP and AccountMate software, and will soon be available for Sage X3 ERP and Acumatica. As opposed to older batch systems, ACCU-DART validates and enters data directly into the ERP system in real time for improved accuracy.

The real-time interaction, reduced error rate and faster order processing brought by bar code based inventory control systems delivers better sales per employee over systems that do not use bar codes in the warehouse, as well as better ROI. Bar code users also report a decrease in manufacturing costs and cycle time. ACCU-DART is available through select value-added resellers worldwide.
