Pratt-Read Tools, LLC not only offers OEM’s a diverse range of high-quality screwdrivers, nut drivers, blades, and bits, but also custom extruded plastic handles and rods for use in tool manufacturing. A&L Handles, a division of Pratt-Read, manufactures virtually all its handles in its Pottstown, PA facility, keeping up its Made In the USA tradition. Over 60 extrusion profiles are available to OEMs to choose from incorporating multiple handle shapes and diameters, along with rod diameters ranging from 1/2″ up to 1 ½”. Flexible manufacturing processes allow for custom handle assemblies, sizes, shapes and colors, including inlay striping, a process of incorporating contrasting colored resins in the handle grip — all at an affordable price. An exclusive screw cap and patented Roto-Cap screw cap can also be incorporated into handles to meet OEM requirements.
Additionally, the facility provides secondary services such as handle painting, drilling, small parts assembly, threading, custom logo stamping and assembly of cushion grips, to finish the job quickly and cost-effectively.
All A&L handles are made from eco-friendly cellulose acetate, a renewable natural resource derived from wood pulp. Cellulose acetate is rugged, impact and chemical resistant assuring a long-lasting tool. All excess materials are recovered for further processing.
