Brady, provider of industrial and safety printing systems and solutions, announced its TAGLOCK™ Circuit Breaker Securing Devices. These innovative securing products allow up to four workers to lockout circuit breaker switches by simply applying standard nylon cable ties and their individual worker ID tags.

“Power generation and process manufacturing facilities that have historically relied on tagout for their electrical equipment can now enjoy the physical restraint and individual control provided by TAGLOCK devices,” says Tom Campbell, global product manager, lockout tagout solutions for Brady. “In addition, organizations that have utilized traditional lockout can improve safety and compliance by using these space-efficient and light weight devices to allow breaker switch securing by multiple workers in the tight space of electrical panel boards.”

TAGLOCK devices are tightened onto the breaker switches, then physically secured with standard non-releasable 50-pound minimum strength nylon cable ties and the workers’ ID tags. These devices will remain secured until all workers have removed their personal cable tie and tag.

The design of TAGLOCK devices eliminates the need to use locks, while allowing users to prepare and pre-load their ID tags in advance and then quickly secure the TAGLOCK to the designated energy control lockout points. In addition, TAGLOCK devices provide the same great range of fit on all primary circuit breakers as Brady’s original line of circuit breaker lockouts.

“All lockout tagout products, including TAGLOCK devices, should always be recognized and used in accordance with a comprehensive documented lockout tagout program that includes the use of controls, thorough lockout procedures and careful training, combined with the assurance of employee accountability,” adds Campbell.
