Improved weigh module from METTLER TOLEDO delivers higher accuracy and safety

Listen to this article

The SWB505 MultiMount™ weigh module now comes with new and improved load-cell technology for even higher accuracy that was possible before. It is easy and safe to install and has received OIML C6 and NTEP IIIM approvals for use in applications with a high-accuracy requirement.

The SWB505 MultiMount™ weigh module is ideal for tank, silo and conveyor weighing for capacities from 110 to 4,400 kilograms.

Its application range has now been enlarged to higher accuracy requirements, with OIML C6 approvals that allow legal-for-trade weighing up to 6,000e, or in other words, 6,000 divisions for Europe. For the United States, it received an NTEP IIIM approval for legal-for-trade applications with a resolution of up to 10,000 divisions.

The MTB and 0745A stainless-steel beam load cells inside the SWB505 MultiMount™ are also available on its own without the force introduction and mounting parts of the weigh module. That allows machine builders to use these high accurate  load cells to design their own high-accuracy weighing devices, which perfectly fit into their machines. Level feet, mounting plates and Rocker Pins are available for seamless integration and help achieve the expected accuracy.

SWB505 MultiMount™ includes thoughtfully engineered SafeLock™ features, which provide machine builders and end users guaranteed safety from installation to operation. Those features protect the load cell and allow faster installation without compromising safety for the installer. SafeLock™ also protects the entire tank, silo or conveyors in outdoor applications from tipping over in case of strong winds. All safety features are not only calculated and confirmed with Finite Element Analysis, but they also are physically tested to verify if the theory meets practice.

In addition to accuracy approvals, the SWB505 MultiMount™ has approvals for ATEX Zone 1/2 including 21/22 plus EM Class I, II, III Division 1 and 2, which allows installations in hazardous zones.
