Larson Electronics has announced the release of a powerful new explosion proof LED light fixture designed to replace older style 400 watt metal halide units. The HAL-PRM-150W-LED-100 surface mount hazardous area light features high output, weatherproof construction, 100 feet of cord and cool operation in an explosion proof design fitted with an adjustable flat surface mount bracket for easy installation.  The HAL-PRM-150W-LED-100 surface mount hazardous area light is a high power LED alternative to standard 400 watt metal halide lamps that runs cooler and provides more reliable operation without any loss in performance. This hazardous location light features a powerful LED assembly fitted with thirty CREE XLamp XPG® LED emitters for the highest performance and reliability possible. The LED assembly is housed within a durable cast aluminum fixture with high strength gasket and hinged tempered glass door with stainless steel hardware for excellent protection against moisture and corrosion. The entire fixture mounts to flat surfaces using an included U bracket that allows the user to adjust the lamp vertically once installed for optimal coverage of the target area to be illuminated. Larson Electronics also includes 100 feet of heavy duty SOOW cord fitted with an EPP Plug for ample length and secure connections. This explosion proof LED light produces 14,790 lumens of light output in a 60 degree flood pattern, allowing it to effectively illuminate as much area as a 400 watt metal halide fixture while running far cooler and using far less power. This LED light also provides enhanced reliability with a 50,000 hour operational life rating that is twice that of standard metal halide lamps, and no ballast to fail or require servicing. This industrial grade lighting system is approved for Class 1 Division 2 locations as well as carrying an IP65 waterproof rating and UL1598 approval for outdoor marine locations where wetness and corrosion is an issue. The HAL-PRM-150W-LED-100 operates with standard 120-277 50/60 VAC current and is available in floodlight and spotlight configurations, making it a versatile and powerful alternative to metal halide lamps that provides higher performance without compromise.

“The HAL-PRM-150W-LED is a high powered LED flood light for hazardous location areas,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com.  “Operators are looking for Class 1 Division 2 LED lights that truly create a flood light output rivaling that of conventional 400 watt metal halide flood lights.  The HAL-PRM-150W-LED hazardous location flood light is designed to do just that.”
