Jungheinrich® ETV216i next generation Reach Trucks now available in North America

Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA), the provider of Jungheinrich® lift trucks and narrow-aisle products in the United States, Canada and Mexico, announced that the Jungheinrich ETV216i – the Worlds’ first reach truck with fully integrated lithium-ion battery – is now available for the North American market.

Compared to conventional reach trucks, the ETV 216i achieves significantly increased productivity in the warehouse. The fully integrated lithium-ion battery features a longer service life, maintenance-free operation, and 24/7 truck availability with opportunity charging. A fully-integrated lithium-ion battery reduces the size of the battery compartment to create more space in the operator compartment for greater comfort and excellent visibility. In addition to short charging times and increased energy efficiency, the ETV 216i features great residual capacities and 23 percent faster lift speeds than the previous generation of Jungheinrich lead-acid models.

“We’re excited to introduce the latest innovation in Lithium-Ion technology to the North American market,” said John Sneddon, vice president of sales and marketing at MCFA. “The new Jungheinrich ETV 216i moving mast reach truck truly demonstrates Jungheinrich’s commitment to innovation. The first of its kind – the fully integrated lithium-ion battery makes the ETV 216i the most agile and best performing reach truck in its class – offering customers improved maneuverability, greater efficiency and even longer run times.”

The ETV 216i was named as the 2019 IFOY Award winner for most innovative product in the Warehouse Truck category.
