Mezzanine Safeti-Gates, Inc. offers new Tri-side safety gate design for doorways and compact area

Mezzanine Safeti-Gates, Inc., an innovator in the design and manufacturing of industrial safety products for warehouses and distribution facilities, announced that its Tri-Side safety gate is available in several new configurations to accommodate various applications, including platform extensions on doorways and areas with limited overhead space.

The Tri-Side safety gate model is engineered to reduce the potential for accidents associated with pallet drop areas on mezzanine levels. The dual-gate system creates a completely enclosed workstation providing protection for both the worker and materials during loading and off-loading operations. When the U-shaped rear gate is lifted up allowing access to the workstation, the ledge gate automatically closes to the deck, ensuring there is always a gate between the operator and the ledge.

Ideal for providing safe environments in doorways, the new Tri-Side design integrates with overhead climate or fire doors with a compact gate structure that allows access around the mezzanine area while the ledge is secured. In applications where the platform extends out through the doorway, the system can be configured so the ledge-side gate extends out to the ledge, and then compacts back into the mezzanine area allowing for an overhead door to close.

“Doorways on elevated platforms can often be overlooked when it comes to safety, especially when the door is an important part of the operations,” said Aaron Conway, president of Mezzanine Safeti-Gates Inc. “Many of our customers have asked us to create safety gates for doorway openings and areas with very little overhead space, and we’ve engineered our Tri-Side gates to be more compact for these areas.”

The Tri-Side safety gates use a dual, counterbalanced gate system to provide a controlled access area and maintain a safe environment at all times, ensuring OSHA, IBC and ANSI compliance. The Tri-Side is available in standard single and double-wide sizes, as well as the compact model. All gates are available in powder coated mild steel or electro-polished stainless steel. All of the safety gates in the company’s product line can be customized to fit into existing or new structures.
