Tim Shinbara assumed the position of vice president – manufacturing technology at AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology. He brings to the position extensive industry engineering and manufacturing technology experience and has carved out a recognized industry niche with his extensive knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies. His predecessor, Paul Warndorf, will assume the role of vice president of strategic planning and remain active in supporting the manufacturing technology department, as well as leveraging his industry experience to support other growth initiatives at AMT.

“This is a great opportunity for me to further serve our members and my colleagues at AMT,” said Shinbara. “Paul has well-positioned the manufacturing technology department to accelerate value creation for our members and partners in the areas of MTConnect, expand awareness of manufacturing technology/process advancements and cultivate synergistic, resourceful relationships established over decades of industry involvement. I look forward to this opportunity and I am fortunate to have Paul’s mentorship throughout this transition and into 2015.”

“Tim has done an outstanding job of representing AMT on a number of industry and government committees, panels and boards, as well as increasing AMT’s technology image via numerous speaking engagements,” said Douglas K. Woods, President – AMT.

Tim resides on the Executive Committee of America Makes – the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII) and is the AMT liaison for the Additive Working Group and Technology Issues Committee for members within AMT.

“It has been a pleasure and an invaluable experience overseeing the Manufacturing Technology department at AMT. I believe the work and accomplishments the department has achieved will be well served and even enhanced when Tim takes charge in the upcoming year,” said Warndorf.
