Barcoding, Inc., a leader in enterprise-wide mobility solutions, announces CEO and Founder Jay Steinmetz a winner of Baltimore SmartCEO’s 2013 Circle of Excellence awards. In its fifth year of celebration in Baltimore, the Circle of Excellence awards program honors the area’s most accomplished business leaders who have successfully taken their companies to the forefront of their chosen industries. Steinmetz, who founded Barcoding in 1998, was selected among three finalists in the Technology category.

“Winning this award is a fitting way to wind down 2013,” Steinmetz said. “This past year has been filled with growth for Barcoding. We made a large acquisition, created a new consumables division, and augmented our staff and partner network. However, it is not only my leadership, but also the Barcoding team that has allowed us to thrive and remain at the forefront of today’s mobile technologies.”

Baltimore SmartCEO, in conjunction with Title Sponsor Ruth’s Chris Steak House, recognized this year’s Circle of Excellence finalists and CEO of the Year at the 2013 Circle of Excellence Awards & CEO of the Year Celebration on Oct. 3 at The Grand Lodge of Maryland. The program celebrated 29 finalists for their leadership across 10 industry categories and 10 winners were announced live at the event. This year’s finalists collectively generate more than $1.1 billion in annual revenue and employ over 3,000 individuals in Greater Baltimore.

“The Circle of Excellence finalists have shaped the Baltimore business community in ways that have not gone unnoticed. They are distinguished leaders in their fields of business and have found unbelievable success,” said Craig Burris, president and founder of SmartCEO magazine. “We are proud to recognize them for their achievements and excellence. They have set the bar high and are admirable role models for the Baltimore community.”
