QCRA FRC Teams Qualify for World Championships in Houston, April 16-19

Queen City Robotics Alliance FRC teams qualified for the FIRST® World Championships in Houston while at the state tournament last weekend in Greensboro. Teams 3506 YETI Robotics and 2724 Avalanche Robotics will represent North Carolina at the George R. Brown Convention Center. This international robotics competition will host 600 FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams.

Team YETI qualified by winning the Impact Award at state, the most prestigious award in the FIRST program. Impact Award winners “honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.” Also, YETI team member Parvathy U. was nominated as FIRST Dean’s List finalist.

Team Avalanche won the Rising Star Award at the state tournament. They qualified for Worlds by winning the competition as a part of Alliance I, where they were the second team pick.
