Westfalia Technologies, Inc. has supported Operation Gratitude by collecting more than 170 lbs. of food, supplies and gifts for troops serving overseas as part of the organization’s spring “Remembering Gratitude” campaign. Operation Gratitude is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, committed to lifting the spirits and meeting the evolving needs of active duty and veteran communities, and providing volunteer opportunities for all Americans to express their appreciation to the U.S. military, veterans and first responders.

This year, Westfalia took fundraising to a whole new level with a friendly competition among its employees. Like the core values of the military, this competition fostered teamwork within Westfalia’s internal departments, dividing into 13 teams and competing to gather at least 100 lbs. of items. Westfalia employees well-exceeded their goal and collected 173.5 lbs. of food, supplies and gifts. Plus, Westfalia’s C.A.R.E.S. program donated an additional $200 worth of items. Westfalia C.A.R.E.S. program is an employee-run program demonstrating the company’s Commitment to Assisting to Raise awareness and Empower employee Service in the community.

Carolyn Blashek, founder, Operation Gratitude, said, “We are grateful for Westfalia’s generosity in supporting Operation Gratitude. We know that the recipients of these care package items – our service men and women – are grateful as well.”

“Investment in our communities is just one way Westfalia demonstrates our commitment to being good corporate citizens while empowering employees to give back,” said Staci Cretu, marketing communications manager, Westfalia. “Our original goal was to donate 100 lbs. of items to Operation Gratitude. However, Westfalia employees came together as a team and were able to surpass this amount, allowing us to send seven large boxes of items to support our troops and simply say, ‘thank you.’”
