Jamco celebrates first anniversary in Tampa

Jamco Logo

Jamco Inc., established in 1986, is an industry-leading supplier of motive power forklift battery chargers. These chargers range from Plug in’s, Opportunity Chargers, High Frequency, and CEC compliant chargers. In 1986, the company was originally based in Kitchener, Ontario Canada, and built a solid reputation supplying used forklifts & motive power chargers across North America. “Our distribution point in Carlisle, Pennsylvania provided us a pathway to eventually relocate our company,” says Tim Jamal. 2011 was a crucial year for us. We navigated the challenges and risks to relocate Jamco’s head office to North Orlando Florida, while continuing to serve the Canadian market with a branch in Cambridge, Ontario. By 2013, Jamco had built a reputation in Central Florida as the go-to source for sales and rentals of late model forklifts. During this time, Jamco continued to invest and expand the motive power charger business across the USA. In 2014, Jamco was appointed as a JLG & Heli forklift dealer. Shortly after, Jamco added Doosan, Mariotti, and Skyjack lines, and rapidly built up its forklift rental fleet to cover the underserved Central Florida market. In 2019, Jamco opened a location in east Tampa offering sales/rentals of forklifts and scissor lifts.  “Mid-December 2020 marks one full year in the greater Tampa market and we have already outgrown our current location faster than anticipated,” says Tim Jamal.   Jamco continues to serve as the OEM Doosan, Skyjack, Mariotti & JLG dealers for Orlando. Jamco Tampa has plans to “double down” on its forklift rental fleet and grow its refurbished used forklift sales, to support the retail demands in Tampa. Jamco looks forward to continued expansion across Central Florida.
